become do a number lookup on the net and find out what company owns the number starting time....if its wireless over landline you have a slight adventure. I know nosotros dont accept the power to select numbers like nosotros did when digital outset came out (hence my xxx-1111 number) but when we call in to do a phone number change (for harassing calls or whatever) nosotros can usually sweet talk them a picayune into choosing WITHIN A RANGE of numbers...like they will say we have xxx-3285 through 30-3350.....and then i would say ill accept 30-3300...thats almost the best you can get (this is with verizon wireless btw)

Cingular will allow yous pick your number. When customers phone call in to get their number inverse, we tin can type in a number and see if it is free, or requite you a few options for numbers until you notice one yous like. Sometimes Cingular doesn't own the number that the customer wants. At least see what numbers close to it they may offering. The phone number only might non be gratuitous with any company though, deplorable.

Bank check Telcodata.U.s.a. Full Expanse Code / Single Commutation Query to find out who owns the telephone exchange.
Then try to go that specific number from them... if u dont similar their service... transfer the number over to where you want it.
